Manhattan Project
From a laboratory result in Berlin in 1938 to the destruction of two cities in 1945 and the nuclear age that followed, told through J. Robert Oppenheimer and the people around him. Eleven chapters rebuilt in 3D on real terrain: Chicago Pile-1, Oak Ridge, Hanford, Los Alamos, the Trinity site, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Pacific test atolls and Room 2022 of the 1954 hearing. Every figure traces to a source, disputed points are shown as ranges, and the text comes at two reading levels, school and university. A presenter mode (arrow keys or a clicker, P, F, B) is built for classrooms and auditoriums. The history is told at museum level: the science of fission and fusion, the people, the decisions and their human cost, never weapon design.
